Cake Toppers cupcake review

Cake Toppers cupcake review

When it comes to cupcakes, I am all about the icing, and usually as much chocolate as I can get.

So when Cake Toppers got in touch and offered me the chance to review their personalised cup cakes, I jumped at the chance.

Cake Toppers offer personalised, edible photos, logos and messages printed on cakes and cupcake icing and deliver them via post across the UK.

But what to choose?

Cake Toppers say that they can transfer anything on to a cake by printing on icing using edible inks, so I decided to put them to the test.

For our up-coming trip to Disneyland Paris, I wanted to use the personalised cupcakes as part of our ‘reveal’. At this point, Lady P didn’t know where we were going so I had the idea that we’d give her the cakes on the Eurostar as a clue to where we were going.

So I asked Cake Toppers to print a personalised image of her favourites.

They arrived within 3 days and were safely packed in our ‘train picnic’ for the journey.

Toddler on holiday

Unfortunately, whilst waiting for our train she heard an announcement to board our train to Disneyland Paris and the cat, as they say, was out of the bag.

Damnit! The big reveal happened when I didn’t have my camera on hand!

But what it did mean though was that we could get stuck into the delicious cupcakes as soon as we got on the train. So it was win win really.

Tried and tested review:

The image that I asked Cake Toppers to transfer turned out really well. Often these things can be a bit blurry if they bleed or lose the colour, but these cupcakes looked great.

The good news is that they tasted even better! My favourite was the chocolate sponge with chocolate icing.

Price-wise, these might seem a bit high initially (around £2 each if you buy 12), but I have easily paid £2.50 for a cupcake in the Waitrose bakery and they haven’t had half of the personal touch. Personally, I would buy these for a special occasion such as a hen party or baby shower.

At a glance:

  • Price: from £13.49 for 6 personalised cupcakes
  • Ingedients: Sponge cupcakes in silver foil cases, topped with fondant icing
  • Quality: high
  • Gender: unisex
  • Available to order at Cake Toppers
  • Recommendation: high
