I’m posting this one week and almost one hour after my gorgeous baby girl, Penelope arrived in our lives.
Following a pessary induction earlier that day with a relatively quick labour and ultimate water birth, our daughter was safely born to us, and has already changed our lives beyond recognition.
The last week has been filled with midwife visits, overwhelming generosity of family and friends, non-stop washing machine cycles, sore nipples, sicky muslins and pooey nappies – not to mention my recovery pains – but I would not change it for a second.
My life was good before we had the baby, and I’m not saying it didn’t have a purpose or meaning, but in the last 9 months or so, I can honestly say that becoming a Mummy is the most important and precious thing I’ve ever done. Despite all of the worry and pain along the way so far, I already can’t remember a time when I wasn’t growing or caring for my darling Penny, and feel so very lucky that we have been blessed with her becoming part of our family.
I am so in love with my daughter and husband and can’t wait for our adventures together.
Welcome to my world, baby Penelope.
Love from Mummy xx
