Do you try to remember every aspect of your child’s development?
Is your grey matter crammed as full as your phone’s photo album?
It would be great to be an elephant (with nice thighs) who never forgets, but unfortunately some things just slip away. Those boring mundane tasks often steal our lovely happy ones, which is really really annoying.
If you’re anything like me then, you’ll have tried paper lists, online memos and every app on the a market to try commit to memory your child’s cute and funny moments, as well as the important milestones.
You’ll probably also have found then that seeking out a solution that feels like a permanent and personal keepsake isn’t an easy task.
So what’s the answer?
I recently discovered a wicked idea by a new brand, tiddlers & nippers.
tiddlers & nippers is a stylish range of easy to use journals, designed to help track a child’s early development.
The company was born out of trying to keep some order following the arrival of a new baby. The inventors couldn’t find a physical product that combined functional format and good design to do the job, so they came up with their own range of baby and toddler tracking journals.
So tiddlers & nippers created a range of journals that helps to record feeding and changing patterns, sleeping routines, foods eaten and so on.
And all without the a mobile phone or anything stored in the cloud!

The tiddlers & nippers range
The journals aimed at the earlier stages of a baby’s development to cleverly track feeding and sleeping schedules, doctors’ appointments and co-ordinating care with helpers.
They then move on to weaning helping with the transition from milk to solids, and logging any favourite foods or reactions.
As the child becomes a toddler, the tracker becomes useful for co-ordinating care with helpers, documenting daily activities, as well as logging sleeps, nappy changes, meals and snacks.
And lastly, there is a lined notebook.
Each of the journals are available in 7 cover colour options ranging from plain bright colours to cute fish.
Obviously, Lady P is past the newborn and weaning stages, so we don’t now need help tracking feeds, nappies or naps. That doesn’t mean to say though that I am any more on top of remembering all of the endearing things she comes up or enjoys doing.
For the first year of her life, I wrote down things we did together each week in a notebook. I love the fact that I did it, but as I look back on it now, I can see the effects of sleep deprivation.
Messy writing, spelling mistakes, scribbles and incorrect dates.
It’s always been something that I’ve wanted to revisit and re-write (more neatly).
So when tiddlers & nippers offered me the chance to review their nipper notebook I thought it was the perfect thing to transfer the content into a more personalised format.
Tried and tested review:
This idea appeals to my stationery-geek side. I’ve always really liked the feeling of getting a new pad and pens, so to find one that is linked to my daughter is a winner.
The quality of the item is great. The cover feels as though it’d withstand sticky toddler fingers, and the stretchy band around the pages means less tearing accidents. The paper itself also doesn’t bleed when rollerball pen is used (which is a real bugbear of mine!).
I only wish I’d found it when Lady P was little – it would have been a great resource to keep me sane, but also help others looking after her.
