“Mummy, I’ve been playing at nursery and I am Ow-lek”, was my first introduction to PJ Masks.
I will admit it, I actually had no idea what the heck my daughter was talking about.
After a little investigation, I managed to find PJ Masks on the Disney Junior channel and all became clear.
I also managed to decipher that she didn’t mean “Ow-lek”, but actually “Owlette”, naturally.
A brief overview: PJ Masks
If you’re not yet down with PJ Masks, let me elucidate.
The main characters of the programme are three young friends Connor, Amaya and Greg. When they put on their pyjamas at bedtime they become their alter egos, Catboy, Owlette and Gekko, ready to fight crime. Each episode, they embark on adventures filled with action, solving mysteries and learning valuable lessons along the way. The ‘bad guys’ causing all of this trouble are Luna Girl, Romeo and Night Ninja.
And actually, it’s pretty good. Certainly a welcome change from Peppa bloody Pig, that’s for sure.
So when we got invited to the PJ Masks Halloween party, we jumped at the chance.
The PJ Masks Halloween Party
Still dressed in her own PJs and bundled into the car at 6.45am, Lady P wasn’t out to catch the baddies, but rather to get our 7.12am train to London.
We arrived in plenty of time and had a leisurely stroll down Tottenham Court Road to the Picturehouse Central in Piccadilly.
As soon as we walked in, I knew Lady P was going to have a bucket load of fun.
With toys, crafts, colouring, face painting, drinks and nibbles on offer, she got stuck in straight away.
The party was in full swing with a boogie thanks to a new partnership between diddi dance and PJ Masks to raise money for Youth Sport Trust. The kids all took to the dance floor to learn some superhero moves including the ‘official’ PJ Masks dance.
And then… their little eyes almost popped out of their heads!
The ‘real’ PJ Masks arrived!
The party was far from over though with an exclusive screening of an unseen PJ Masks episode, ‘Take to the Skies, Owlette!’. I’m glad to report that it looks like the new batch of shows will be just as good as the last!
The sneak peak of the new shows also gave us a preview of a new superhero that will be joining the trio, a new robot and vehicle, and of course more bad guys to see off.
Catch the brand new episodes on Wednesdays at 5.45pm throughout November and December on Disney Junior.
Alas, all good things come to an end though.
It was time for the goody bags. And what goodies there were!
So if you have a PJ Masks fan in the house, these are the perfect items to add to the Christmas present pile, guaranteed to put a smile on their face.
diddi dance is holding a Super Dance Party in all our classes across the UK from Monday 30th October to Sunday 5th November to raise funds for the Youth Sport Trust – a national children’s charity dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people through the power of sport and physical activity.
